I got a text! I gotta text ⁓ I wanna have a Love Island party and I'm like so excited about it. I have so many fun ideas. ⁓ my god. I have no one to invite to a Love Island party. Come over. Just fly up for it. Okay. Hello, hello. Welcome back to catching up with Liz and Evie. Hello. I can't believe you're still here. Thank you for listening. I can hardly believe that we're still here.

I believe it, you know. It's nice. It's been fun to be here. It's been nice to be here. I've been liking listening to our episodes. ⁓ yes. I've been liking hearing people's feedback on our episodes. Same. Thank you for the feedback, everyone. Seriously. I it really is I hate to say it, but it's nice to hear nice things about yourself. ⁓ you know. When we put this much work into it. I I equate listening to our episodes.

You know, when you post an Instagram story and you like watch it five times, you're like making sure? That's like I'm like, this is what it feels like. I gotta stop doing that. That's like what at what age is it like we need to quit that? Although I'm back on the TikTok. I got TikTok again for this podcast so that I could obviously do market research and just like see what the people are doing. Damn. Yeah, yeah.

and Jesus Christ, it's good. There's they don't do it like that anywhere else. Now that you've been watching Love Island, are you on the Love Island ⁓ recaps on TikTok? I am. Tic Tac Aren't they great? They're so fun. They're unbelievable, Elizabeth. People ⁓ people's takes are insane. Even if you don't watch the show, just watch find one person and watch their Love Island recaps. I would agree with that. Also, I do think like I like hate to admit it, I really like When I left when I left TikTok, I feel like I feel like it's like when I left the community.

which TikTok is. It's just many, many communities together. I've been, what, like five months without TikTok and I didn't miss it really. It was nice not to have the noise in my life and the access, whatever. But when I got it back, like The things that I really valued about TikTok, which there are some true there's so much value to TikTok, they were proven true to me when I got it back and like re immersed in it.

Like the takes even on Love Island, the like psychological breakdown of people, like the insight, the insight people have is so real. Like it's really good. Like smart people are on TikTok, I swear. It's just it's good shit. It's good content. It's high quality. When you when you are on it and it ⁓ like your feed your for you page is things you're actually genuinely interested in, it's just it hits, it's so good. And then like you'll get like I get on a video and it's a ten minute one, I'm like, ⁓ right, I gotta commit 'cause I don't want to lose this from my feed.

But like I don't want a ten minute video right now, but I'm gonna commit and then it's always worth it and good. That's very true. That's how I feel about YouTube shorts sometimes too. I do be on the short I had to go somewhere from TikTok and I did hit the YouTube shorts a little bit. Mostly because I really like YouTube. I follow a lot of vloggers and I watch a lot of like twenty minute, thirty minute videos.

So sometimes I get their shorts and sometimes those shorts they have a lot of value. I can't lie. But yeah, I I love TikTok. And the Love Island recaps are amazing. Yeah, they're they're great. You know what's funny though? Like The one song that's like being sent to me daily, the one that's trending is the ⁓ You can have whatever you like. You can have whatever you like. It's just people in their car singing. They're like, You that this big boy in your life.

I want your body. Need your body.

You ain't got me, you ain't need no

I got it now. It's so good. I literally put it on in the car today and was just having a time. Party of one. Good to know. All right. And I've yeah, so every day I get one of those. Highlight of the week right there. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. How was your week? My week was good. It was kind of boring. It was like just work and trying to work out, trying to get consistent. In the workout sketch, but some good hangs in there.

⁓ I really another reason I just I really like the little life I've set up here. I just feel like I see a lot of my friends throughout my day because I work at a coffee shop half the time. And ⁓ so I had a lot of good hangs. And then today this is you had some good chats. I had some good chats. So today I literally haven't shut up. ⁓ I went to the gym in the morning.

I only had your podcasting. And now I'm podcasting. No, truly. Like after this, I'm gonna go comat hose. I literally I didn't have to work two jobs today, just one. And ⁓ so I was doing some emails or whatever. Anyway, I woke up, I went to the gym, ⁓ got coffee after the gym with some friends, was chit chatting, having that little endorphin rush, coffee, you know. And then ⁓ was gonna go meet up with one of the friends at her house and do a little infrared sauna sesh.

So Did a few emails, ate some breakfast, packed up the laptop with me in case I needed it, went up to her house, which is like a twenty minute drive up the mountains. Well, to her new house, which is like she's working on it. It's not ⁓ a fully finished house. It just has an infrared sauna, a pool, and a view. And lovely. Send me a picture. ⁓ I yeah, I'll try and find some. The it was a time.

⁓ and it was so much fun. Just to hang and we just chit-chatted. We just had a huge catch up, long overdue. She had just been in Japan for a couple of months or like six weeks. ⁓ I came back from call my six-day trip to Colorado. So we had lots to catch up on. Chit-chatted in there for like a bunch of hours, and then went left her house, called my cousin Anna, had a full like two-hour catch-up with my cousin Anna.

In bet in the middle of that catch-up, I Went to my other friend's house, grabbed a chair she was giving me, like a nice easy chair, and then continued that conversation with my cousin. As soon as I ended my call with my cousin, I called my little sister, talked to her for a while while she did some errands, hung up with her, FaceTimed you FaceTime with you ch chatting. Now we're chatting with microphones. Now we're chatting.

That's been my day. On record. That's been Yeah, it was But also living far from your family is you just I feel like you don't always get regular chats, but when you do hop on, sometimes you get that one and you're like, Yep, caught up. There was a lot of catch up on. But ⁓ yeah. So that's kind of been my week. It's just we've just been plugging along. I'm really trying to get I'm really I'm really trying to like just up my fitness level, which I'm just I stocked my fridge in house with protein.

I'm downing the protein and adding in those veggies as much as I can. And ⁓ just trying to be getting active every day. So I love it. Yeah. It's I'm failing at it every other day, but you know what? Every day we try again. I have my workout ready for tomorrow. We're going after it. It's amazing. What's your do you have any specific goals? I do. So I I did get my orange belt last episode. Well, I haven't gotten it yet.

I'm suppos was supposed to get this last night. I was like, good, I'll talk about this on the podcast. Thank you. I'm getting it officially on Tuesday because my coach had a you have a a a belt ceremony? On Tuesday, yeah. Which point fighting has gotten a lot more like ⁓ it's just upped a little bit. And ⁓ I just want to I don't want the reason that I can't perform at some kind of level to be cardio based.

So I'm just really trying to get my threshold up. ⁓ and just consistently moving more also outside of exercise, trying to get that knee up. ⁓ those are my goals. My goal is just to move more, get my steps up. I'm trying to get like literally like five thousand a day just to make sure I even hit that because I'm really not. I'm really not hitting that. Interesting. It's hard to get when you are when you don't get a lot of steps.

And then you realize you don't it's hard to up it. And then once you are upping it, it's easier too. Correct. But like getting fr like the the realization to actually getting more is always tough. It's tough too because like in my head I'm like I move around all the time. I'm not sitting on my couch all the day. But then it's just like I'm in the coffee shop. Like and I move I walk back and forth behind the bar, but like I'm not doing that.

And like if I do a workout standing a lot, but you're not necessarily getting steps. Correct. And ⁓ and it's They did just pave my whole neighborhood, so maybe that will entice me to walk more. ⁓ dinner walks. You should get like the flashlight headbands. We have them. We have them. So we're all set up. There you go. So yeah, and so I did. I went I went on like at least two walks this week, which is more than last week.

That's great. Perfect. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm just trying my goal is to I have a camp in July, ⁓ a kickboxing camp, and it's supposed to be like An eight hour intensive and my goal is to not be the slowest person there. So I'm just trying to up that cardio. Yeah. And it's fucking hot here, dude. It is getting hot. So it's challenging. Yeah. It is. But well, we're trying to I'm proud of you. You're doing it.

Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. It's good to have a goal. It's good to have a goal. It's good to have goal. I got two workouts in this week, which is better than last week, which was zero. Also, I've been working on my chin up slash pull up game since being postpartum. And I got three. I was at two. I did three the other day. Chin up. Cue the applause. Cue the applause. I'm proud of myself. I'm proud of you.

That's awesome. Thanks. They're hard. They're so hard. I every time I see someone do them, I'm like, ⁓ god, I should really start training those again. Like it's It's just like it's you it takes so long to see Progress. Yep. And it's hard. And every day I don't start is another I haven't started that really long process. Come on. 1% better every day. ⁓ my God. We're becoming a self help podcast. ⁓ my week was I was thinking back and I'm like, what even was my week?

It was like busy and not busy at the same time. ⁓ like a lot of just like Andrew and I swapped. Like he was on then I was on then he was gone then I was on whatever. So like there's like a lot of like back and forth swapping and we don't we aren't big texters. Mm-hmm. But I feel like we were texting more this week just 'cause we didn't see each other more and because we're like coordinating.

All right, Rio's at my mom's house. You can you get him and then da da da da. I did a goof though. I did a big goof. Big goof. On so I had a work meeting on Thursday. So I yesterday I drop Rio at my parents' house and then I'm going to this work meeting and I was working that night. So I was gonna go from the work meeting right to the gym, get a little workout in, and then work that that night.

Andrew was getting home from work. He was gonna go pick up Rio at my parents, bring him home. I'm like halfway through getting to where I'm supposed to go. I look behind me, the car seat's in my car. I'm like, motherfucker. We have another car that we just haven't set it up yet. So right now we just each have a base in our cars. I'm like, I it's too late for me to turn around. So instead of getting to the gym early to get a workout in, I turn around and go back to my parents, feed ⁓ Andrew comes there, picks ⁓ up from there, and then I leave for work.

So that was a whole a whole goof. Big goof. Big goof. I was like, you know what, at least I didn't like forget milk or something for him. I was gonna I thought you were gonna tell me Rio is in the back of your car. I was like, ⁓ you didn't even drop Rio off. Yeah, you came with me. That's so funny. Yeah. It's crazy how forgetting something like that really does ch like you have to turn around and like reassess.

And like you're like calculating in your head. You're like, okay. My two sisters all sisters in law aren't far from my parents, but my mom is watching my nephew. So that means that she won't have her car available. So it's not like they can like drop off. ⁓ Like we can use her car to drop Rio off at our house. Then my other sister like, nah, that's like too far or whatever. Like you're like running through.

And I was like, maybe my mom has a car seat in her car from my other nephew and she didn't anyway. So God, what's it like to just like be branded by your family though? Like that just is so nice. ⁓ yeah, it's very nice. But literally like in in the car, I was like, make sure I don't take him out of the car seat, bring him in the car seat into the house. Yeah. You're also thinking of like five other million things not to forget and do on the five minute drive to my parents' house.

So anyway. Anyway. Five drive too. It was a day. It was a day. ⁓ something that has been great this week and for the summer. I feel like I've been wearing a hat almost every day. Love it. And you can wear that for style, for vibes. What are we wearing the hat for? Because it's easy when I don't have time to get ready or I'm not feeling like I want to get ready. I'm like, you know what?

My hair looks like ass. My face looks bad. I'm just gonna put a hat on. My face looks like ass. Yes. So that's been a great go to this week. And and sun protection. Come on. ⁓ Win win wins. Yes. What a home. ⁓ I love a hat. I love a hat. I here's my thing with hats. And there is a thing with hats. ⁓ ever since I cut my hair and I wear a hat, I just feel like I feel like a little boy, and that's fine.

But all my hats somehow have ended up to be like the same hat. I have like six of the same hat. They all look like the hat you're wearing as well. Like it's just a great color for a hat. It's a neutral, like a dad hat. But they're all like a brownish greenish. And I'm just like every time I pick one up I'm like, boring. Boring. I have this one and then I have a yellow land shark one, which I'm like, is it weird to wear a land shark hat?

But I like that it's yellow and fun and vibrant. But as a father, I you know what? You're right. Let me just throw it on backwards and then it's As a father, I think you're entitled to your land shark. Happy Father's Day to me. I told you I'm getting goofy today. I do wear Andrew's I do wear Andrew's dad's sweatshirt a lot. I mean, you're basically a father. Call me dad. Because What if you just like told your kid that like you were dad and he was mom?

Like just like like names. Like like I mean like what does it matter? I don't know. I would I would excuse myself so bad. I mean that's yeah, it's fucked up. For laughs? I don't know. Do you think you'll prank your children? ⁓ I feel like you might. I knowing you, you're gonna do some silly shit. I will I'm definitely silly. I don't know if I will like go out of my way to set up a full prank.

You are really silly as a person. I know that's about to there's something silly I do. When Rio is like in the kitchen, I'll put music out and then I just dance crazy. Like I'll be like shaking my ass and turn around and like jerk. And he's just laughing hysterically. That's really funny actually. I didn't think that was that funny when you first started saying that. And now it's really funny. You're twerking at your son. And this is how dad rolls.

It's just goofy, exactly. In my dad's wisher. In your dad hat last night. So this morning. We were like debating d if we wanted to do go to the beach, which I wanna do at some point. But it was like kind of shitty weather this morning. And it was whatever. So anyway, last night I worked, so I got home late, but I like, if we're gonna go to the beach, or we're debating about the pool too.

It's like if we're gonna do that, I need to wax. Like I'm come on. Yeah, it's summer. Come on. We gotta take care of it. So I brought my whole thing downstairs. ⁓ No. She's waxing her armpits, guys. Get your fucking brains out of the gutter. Well Well, this is Love Island after all. Exactly. So I'm like doing it. I'm like, wait a second. At what age is this extremely inappropriate to be doing while I have kids?

Honestly though, I don't know. I don't know. Also like I get all the time. Well arm yeah, that's totally fine. ⁓ you're talking about the hoo ha. Yeah, well I was not Wait, wait, wait. So you're in the living room watching Love Island and you are waxing your vagina? Yes. Okay. Okay, just checking. Damn. You know what also I started doing that maybe two years ago and 'cause I would get like go to ⁓ European wax center every month.

It's like eighty bucks. No, it's fucking insane. What's a tip? I'm like, this is ridiculous. Can't be doing that. Can't be doing that. Better do it with health. And it sucks, but it's better than not. And I get t this is so TMI. I I I I I will cut it. It's fine. ⁓ it I mean whatever. I was just gonna say I get ingrown, so I have to I can't. ⁓ you're fine. Yeah. I don't know what to do with the ingrowns.

Like, real talk. There's like oils and stuff you can use. Yeah. Who doesn't get ingrowns though? Come on. But some people don't ⁓ okay, Love Island. What do they do? What do they do? What do they do? I would be out of a contract with the editors where they're like They must fudge. If you see something, you will say something. See something, say something, erase that shit. You better blur the fuck out of I think Melanie made ⁓ a comment in one of the episodes where she's like, sh we shaved like our Whatever is for this.

Yes. Yes. But then I'm like, it doesn't even like you don't have any like razor bird, ingrowns, nothing. Makes no sense. They must have an aesthetician. They must. I would yeah. That's something I would need to know if I ever were on that show. Which that will never be. But that is something I would know. There's no way it's not. Yeah. You know. Or they all like somehow have had laser hair removal and then or that.

'Cause I mean, half of them have boob jobs. So I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. That's a that's a question I that I have. That is a question I also have. Wait, how was Father's Day? Did Andrew had his first Father's Day, right? Yeah, he had his first Father's Day. It was for Andrew, not for me. You had Mother's Day. I had Mother's Day. ⁓ yeah, it was really nice. We ⁓ What did what are we even doing?

Did you go the brewery? Yes. Also, what is this brewery? Is it just the Sterling Hotel? No. What is it? Where's this brewery? It's ⁓ my gosh. Wow. It's literally across the street from trade station. ⁓ 'cause I'm like, you used to work there. What the fuck? Yeah, there's a it's really like cute. They did they do such a good job. Is it by like the little diner cafe that used to be there? There was a diner cafe there?

It's next to the post office on like that. It's like in the same building as the post office. Wow. ⁓ there's a a little like ⁓ I love that little post office. It's so cute. It's like a little porch. There's like the stairs that go up and then they have ⁓ garage doors that they'll open sometimes. Cute. It's really cute. I mean, Sterling Long Hill, great place for a brewery. I know. And they get food trucks.

Nice. Nice. A lot of times. So we got yeah, so I think he mowed the lawn in the morning. We went for we went to ⁓ n New Jersey people. We went to Natarar, really nice park. It's like cute trails and then also huge fields. You could like set up a picnic. There's a river. You can fish and the river is beautiful. Yeah. It's so like expansive. There's just so much space. Expansive, yeah. That like you it's like peaceful.

I don't know. Even also it's so peaceful. And if there's a lot of people there, you it doesn't seem like it. Right. ⁓ but it was a beautiful day. So we did a nice loop there. And came home and we walked to ⁓ this brewery that's up the road from our house. They had a food truck, so we got some burgers. or I got and panadas. Andrew got a burger. And then we walked back. Did we get ice cream, Andrew?

Or Greek yogurt? No. We need we need to know. We need to know. We didn't. ⁓ but yeah, it was a very like nice weather and a very chill day, which was good. That's super nice. It was a busy weekend. We also the day before ⁓ this was a fun. The day before we did a volleyball tournament. Ooh. ⁓ one of our friends lives in like a lake community. Mm-hmm. So it's really nice. It's like this big lake, and then and there's a coup a couple different beaches that you can swim from.

But this one has like a grass area area. So it's all for charity. Nice. So we signed up. It was Grass ball ball, there were two nets, and it was us two, and then I don't like so Andrew and I, and then two other people that he plays volleyball with. And ⁓ originally we were gonna do it with our ⁓ friends and his wife, who's pregnant, was gonna watch Rio while we played, but he broke his ankle fishing a couple weeks ago.

How do you break your ankle fishing? He slept on a rock. ⁓ buddy. So yeah, I don't know, unfortunate. So anyway, they ended up coming a little bit at the end, which was great because they watched Rio, but we didn't have it like kind of last minute that we were getting, you know, someone to sub for him. So we didn't have anyone to watch the babies. We're like, you what? It's outside. We know all the people we play Volleva with.

We're just gonna bring him and kinda we're we were playing at the same time, so like we'll see how it goes. And he like we didn't play ⁓ the f the I think there were two games before we had to play. And It was like lined up perfectly with his nap. So we're like doing laps in the stroller. He like falls asleep just as we start playing. So he's like chilling in the group. Sleeps for I think like an hour and a half.

And then is like happy playing, whatever. Then put him in the stroller again. I look he just he did so well. He took two really good stroller naps. He wasn't fussy at all. We were like feeding him in in between. Whoever wasn't playing, and we knew almost everyone. So whoever wasn't playing was like totally fine to like chill with him. He was in the stroller most of the time. It just worked out so nicely. And then Paul and Rebecca came.

Our friends came later and he got like a little fussy then, but I was like, it's our friends. Like I don't now I don't care so much 'cause it like you're also about to have a baby. So it like just worked out really nice. Like I didn't feel I was uncomfortable with that, if that makes sense. No, that's awesome. Yeah. And we played so well. It was so much fun. Nice. Like right on the water. It was really windy, which made ⁓ playing tough.

But the scenery and the weather otherwise was perfect. It was really, really nice. So nice. And we had ⁓ a barbecue at our friends the Friday night. So like that was our weekend. So the Sunday of Father's Day was more of like a chill day. Nice. Which was good. You still don't know that was a Sunday, but you still chilled. Yeah, exactly. Got a house, got like a few things done around the house that we wanted to get done.

Sounds like a perfect day. It yeah, the whole weekend was great. Nice. How are your weeks these days? Like do your weeks feel like super busy and like the weekend is like you need it to relax, or are you like kind of finding pockets throughout the week where you're resetting almost, you know? It's such a Interesting question because like the weeks are the same, but they're not the same at the same time. Because Rio's not really he was on a schedule, like a really consistent nap schedule.

And then he started like pulling himself up on the crib. So we had to lower the mattress. And then he walked in the next day. Literally, we lowered it by one. Walk in the next day is doing the same thing. Like, all right, gotta lower it again. He still does it, but like Yeah, he can't like go all the way up. There's yeah, there's no danger of him. If he's if he stood up, he'd still be well underneath the crib.

⁓ so anyway, now his naps are like kind of pretty inconsistent because like we put him down, he just wants to like explore and play in his crib now that he can do that. ⁓ shoot. Every day is like a little bit different. And then also like we're I don't know, like our our days are a little bit Just like weird. Like sometimes Andrew's late, I have to bring him to where Andrew works, drop him there, and then I go right to work from there.

Sometimes Andrew's able to come home and then I leave for work, but it's always like a quick like hand switch. So Yeah, exactly. So every day is like a little bit. Where are you finding where are you finding like the Liz time in your week? Is there any list? No, that's what I'm you know, maybe you don't right now. No, no, no. I definitely I'm I mean you're waxing your hoo-ha in the living room. At like 10 PM at night.

Love Island. Love Island is our escape. Exactly. No, like I I'll I'll ⁓ It's a very curious question. I'm not like how are you? I'm like curious. I I like I feel like good. Like I don't feel like I'm like, ⁓ my God, I'm so overwhelmed all constantly all the time. Totally like I s the I don't have to be anywhere first thing in the morning, which is huge. That's like I have an easy morning, which is nice.

I can like make my coffee, play with Rio. Like it th we have nice mornings. That's nice. ⁓ and then when he does nap, he naps pretty well, which is nice. So I have that time. And then also I usually when I feed him have a book on my Kindle that I'll like read while I feed him. Although like now he's moving so much it's always a little bit of a shit show with how that goes.

Like he like settles like five minutes and he like sits up, looks around, goes back down onto the boob. Then he like sits up, looks around, goes back down. So like it's not the most relaxing always. But it is it does force you to slow down breastfeeding or just feeding a baby in general. What are you reading on the Kindle? I just downloaded Swan Summer by El Ellen Hildebrand. Ellen Hildebrand. ⁓ have you read any port books?

Let me see. They're they're nice. They're like beachy vibes. ⁓ They're mostly based in like Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. And a lot of them are like around like middle-aged. I think we've talked about this. ⁓ yeah, she did the perfect couple, which I did watch a little bit of. Yes. The twenty-eight summers. I think I almost I think I read that like in like an airport bookstore once. I read like fifteen or twenty pages of it.

I think I don't know. But yeah, it was set somewhere like that. ⁓ Swan Song. Okay. I have seen this cover. Swan Song. Okay, let me know if you like it. Yeah. The girls I'm yeah, so far it's just like it's a nice summer read. I want and like sometimes there's a little bit of a mystery. There's one one of her books is gonna be a show, I think it's on Peacock coming out in mid July, what the five star summer.

Okay. Which I read and I'm actually really excited for the show. It's with with what's her name? Jennifer Jennifer Coolidge. Andison. Garner. Garner. Jennifer Garner. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's the main character. Basically it's like this woman grew up on Nantucket, moves away. I think she grew up her dad. Her dad, like, isn't I think he passed away or something. So like she doesn't really go to Nantucket anymore, but then she gets really rich. ⁓ I think via social media.

She becomes an influencer. Okay. Marries a doctor, and then like lives in like this very affluent area, buys a house on Nantucket, like very nice house. so then goes there for the summers. Anyway, she's turning fifty. And she wants to celebrate with a weekend where she takes like her best friend from each decade of her life. So like her best friend from growing up on Nantucket, her best friend from college, like in her twenties, her best friend in her 30s, from like, you know, they have similar age kids and like they are from the same area.

And then someone from her forties who's like a newer person in her life. And then they all have like a weekend together. So it's interesting because you're seeing like, you know. She's in the place where she grew up, but she's not really like I is I don't know how to say what I'm saying, but I'm rambling. No, no, no. It's a different like the person she grew up with is not like rich and affluent, but living on Nantucket and she's like staying with her, being like, who did you become?

You know, like we used to be best friends. No, I love that. That's a cool that's a cool plot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was it was a cool book. It was a cool read. And again, you're like reading about women in their fifties. Yeah. Which is nice. A cool perspective of life. Like they have grown kids and stuff. You know a book I'm I'm reading right now on my e reader? what? The John Green book on tuberculosis.

What is it called? Tuberculosis is Everything Is Tuberculosis. That's what it's called. ⁓ and I just I ha I got it 'cause it I think it was like a deal. It was like two dollars on s on something. I don't know why. And I've been want I wanted to read it, but I don't I'm not like dying to read it. ⁓ and I got it and I just kinda like opened it the other day. I think when you were feeding Rio, actually.

And ⁓ I just like popped it open 'cause it was next to me and just like started reading. Rio really makes time for reading. Who knew? Reading with Rio. Rio loves reading. Reading with Rio. She really does. It's just nice after a long day to sit down, hop on the boob and read a couple of lines. Yeah, exactly. It was like I was repeating both of you. See, now we're getting back to it at the root of our friendship here.

⁓ okay. So I think you were reading you were reading Rio. You were feeding Rio, and I opened up my e-reader and I just started reading it. And it's so good. Like, here's the thing if you can, if you're a good writer and a good author, you can make anything a good read. And he does. He's such a good writer. We love reading Baptico. Apparently. I fucking love reading about tuberculosis, bro. So funny. It is funny.

It is funny. No, I mean he's just a good storyteller. He's I don't know. The Green Brothers, I'll never shut up about him. They have never let me down. He loves like a teenager with a with a you know everything but bad diagnosis. You do know everything sorry, everything is tuberculosis is nonfiction. It's nonfiction. It's not fiction. I take back what I said. It's a book literally about tuberculosis. Like what do you mean about tuberculosis? Like I'm so sorry.

I just like assumed that you are in this world with me. John Green is a writer, for those who don't know, and he writes he wrote The Fall in Our Stars. And he wrote a lot of other books about teenagers falling in love. And he wrote a book about tuberculosis. This is just like the history. So the book is about the history of tuberculosis, the legacy of tuberculosis, the fact that we have the cure to tubercul tuberculosis, the fact that tuberculosis is still one of the like one of the most infectious and deadly diseases of our time.

And that we could solve that, but we don't. And why that is and the injustice behind it. And he has like a foundation in Sierra Leone. I don't know if it actually comes into play here, but he went to like a TV place. ⁓ he knows people, I think I'm not actually sure what country. I don't want to say the wrong country, but a country in Africa. Okay. And I don't think it's Sierra Leone. He like him and his brother started a center for I think it's like maternity excellence.

excellence in maternity and things like that. Like a a a birthing center for women, obviously. And ⁓ because of the mortality rate among mothers there. And that's like his big thing in Sierra Leone. And then I'm not sure where this is, but anyway, he wrote a book about tuberculosis. Got it. Okay. And it is not a fictional story about someone with tuberculosis. That's what I assumed. He loves just like a sick teenager falling in love. Just a Teenager T B just fall in love.

Terminal terminal teen. I mean he is a YA fiction author, so ⁓ that makes total sense. I just like forgot this. I hadn't I hadn't I'm just I don't know how he sounds very clarifying. Thank you for getting that wrong. That's hilarious. ⁓ that is his MO, so I get why you said that. I know, I know. Well, he does love to write about kids who are dying. Anyway. That does sound like actually an interesting book if it's well written.

Like I'm like, ⁓ I would It's super interesting. It's super interesting. 'Cause like, you know, he he brings in like his like It's not something you would ever otherwise know. Right. Exactly. He did this whole like press junket talking about. Okay. I like I've No, not that you should memorize being Not that you should know, but I've heard him talk about it so much that I was like, I really don't need to read this book because he's summarized it on all of the talk shows I watch.

You know what I mean? ⁓ and that's but I just bought it to like I knew I wanted to read it one day. But again, I picked this up and I was like, shit, this is really good. And like I just forgot how much I love reading his writing. I watch his YouTube videos still, so like I have a lot of John Green still in my life. Anyway, that's what I'm reading. ⁓ said tuberculosis. Tuberculosis. Tuberculosis.

Tuberculosis. Don't ⁓ get tuberculosis. Now I'm a little bit scared to be honest. Of tuberculosis? Yeah. Okay. Well, I'll read the book and let you know if you should be scared. But we did cut fun like USA aid when Trump was out there or when Elon was out there doing all the cutting. ⁓ They cut a lot of the funding that John Green was talking about in the book. And he went on the talk shows to be like, We need that aid.

T V is gonna spread even more. We're gonna have three mi like I think this year alone, ⁓ there was like two million people died of T V. You know? That's a lot of people. It's a lot of people. Anyway. I feel like there's this is a very different topic, but I feel like with all it the cuts From Elon and his budget cuts. Feel like like we're actually gonna see repercussions for that. Not immediate because we're not but like I feel like it's gonna be like two, three years.

Well, sure. But also like though some of them are probably immediate. Well, they're right now because b with all the weather serv services that have been cut, like I follow someone who lives in Oklahoma and they posted on their store the other night that like They had like eighty mile per hour winds and a terrible storm ripping through Kansas and that like they had no warning because the warning systems were defunded. Like no warning and then no yeah, exactly.

No warning and then no aid after. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. All the weather stuff is crazy. But yeah, I agree with you that we're definitely gonna see the effects of that. And I mean, hopefully we there's been some maybe I should try to finish a thought every once in a while. there's been some things that were supposed to be good. There were like there was supposed to be like Well There were some things There was something that like the something about like the the monitoring of the ocean temperature system was supposed to be shut down due to Trump cuts and then they like decided not to do that.

So there's something. Maybe there's time to reverse some of that. I don't know. Something weather related that happened to me though is I was, you know, that's what I did on Wednesday. I almost for this is what I did. I was like, I thought I did something. But then I was like, no, I just got high. But I didn't just get high. I got high at the beach. There was a reason. There was a reason. ⁓ I went with a few friends to the beach on Wednesday just to hang.

And had a little gummy and and we were just hang we were we were all just I was in a just a silly goofy mood and I was giggling. I was saying whatever popped into my mind. I didn't give a shit. and it was freeing. And everyone was on the same wave wavelength and it was just a vibe. So we were giggling, laughing, we jumped in the water, just hanging, having a good time. And then a dude, we were It was the sun had set, it was getting a little dark, we were ready to go.

And a dude came up to us. It was funny. He had like a NYPD hat on. And I was like, Hello, sir. And ⁓ he was like, I don't know if if you heard, but there's a tsunami warning. And I was like, ⁓ we were like, Huh. And now we're all a little a little high. And I was just like, ⁓ thought like let's go and like someone googled it. They were like, Yep, there's been ⁓ a seven point something ⁓ high physically.

Physically we need we need to get as high as we can. Those are the orders. Those are the orders. Climb, climb. Officer. So we and then someone Googled it and they're Yep, there's been a seven point something earthquake in Venezuela. Like, okay, that's like the most legit tsunami warning we've ever had. Again, we're all like, It'll be fine. And the thing just said to stay out of the water. None of the warnings said to like leave your home and go seek higher ground or anything.

But anyway, so we get in the car and my one friend had walked, so then we like put her in the trunk of this car so we could drop her off. And we're just laughing, just cackling, like, run, run, the tsunami, the tsunami. Like, get out of the car, get in the trunk, get out of the car, get in the trunk, get out the trunk. You're slowing us down. And then we had to like turn around to go a different way.

And I was like, ⁓ no, it's too late. We were just really having ourselves a ball. But then it was like I was like a little nervous. I was like, Tsunami warning is real. And then ⁓ our one friend was like, but yeah, is is the cat seeking higher ground? Is your cat freaking out? And I was like, No, my cat's to sleep. And they're Well, either your cat has no more survival instincts or it's fine.

I was like, always always go by the animals. But the good news is I was high. So within 10 minutes I forgot there even was a tsunami warning and it was fine. And watched And I watched a show. What show? I forget. I think House of the Dragon. House of Dragon. House of the Dragon. And it was good. Was it? Yes. Somehow I don't believe you. What the fuck? ⁓ You don't like House of the Dragon?

I've never watched it. No, you just said you I don't know it show, I forgot about it. ⁓ So I was making a joke, okay? God damn. Okay, okay. We just went to got back from Home Goods. And The last couple of times I've gone, I've been like, This is insane. There's so much stuff in here. The shelves are overflowing. It's like ridiculous. I'm overwhelmed. And then we went today because we needed specific toy storage, if you must know.

And we were walking through as you do when you're there. You just browse. And I was like, It's hitting again. It's hitting again. You're like arms out like ⁓ the joy. Still can't put your arms out. It's definitely still still over. Metaphorically speaking. We're holding like a shoe rack. We're like trying to like fish stroller through the aisle of the basket aisle so they're all coming out to size. No. But we did find a a perfect basket for where we needed it.

Toy storage. Yeah. And I'm very much like we don't need more toys, don't get us more toys. And then we have more toys and books. Yes. So many books from people, which I'll take books, fine. Yeah. But like so many stuffed animals, which also it what do you what do you do with stuffed animals? You're not allowed to put them in cribs because that's a suffocation issue. ⁓ shit. So like they can't sleep with them until they're older.

So many people just give you stuffed animals. So I have like in his rocking chair, I have like a big teddy bear, then a smaller teddy bear. Then like I have a little box next to his crib. There's a teddy bear sitting on that. Then like in our living room, there's like three different stuffed animals. I'm like, I don't know what to do with you. I have some still in his closet because like I don't What do I do?

That's a fair point. Wow. We have a big Blueie. I'm like, you you don't even know who Bluey is. And now it's just your bluey at that point. Yeah. Maybe I'll maybe they're for me. I should bring them to my bed and snuggle with them. Yeah. If you like stuffed animals, you should. I own Like truly, what do you do with stuffed animals? And then you just put them in a basket and like they're all there.

Yes. I guess. Yeah. That's boring. I'm so sorry to hear that. I know. Just drowning in stuffed animals. Speaking of stuffed animals, I got myself so much space. Anyway. They do. Now you go. Speaking of such animals. I also I went into Sam's Club this week. ⁓ that's what I did on Monday. No, wait. That was two weeks ago. Fuck. Whatever. One of the Mondays. I have no concept of time. And time is a concept, so ⁓ on a Monday, I went into Sam's Club and I like speed ran that shit.

And I got pulled down one aisle and I got the fluffiest rug and then I got a full body pillow that's like supposed to be like a cooling body pillow and it has changed my life. Not because it's that cooling, but it is slightly cooling. I have to give it that. Any any bed item, sheets, pillow, comforter that's cooling, it's never it's like only always slightly cooling. It's yeah. It's like if yeah. It's like a like it's not hot inducing Right.

It's not a hot pillow. It's actively cooling me off, but it is preventing me from getting warmer. Like I do feel it does feel cool to the touch. It's just like once you touch it, your body heat takes over that coolness. However, they're never truly cooling. No, because there'd have to be something that's it's just not how science works. Correct. My body temperature's gonna heat it up. Like whatever. But the first touch is very nice. So I've been really hugging that shit.

And and just like what a bright. I've been in my bed more. I've been in my bed more because it's there. And I like sleep against the wall. So like it's just really s my bed just feels softer to me. Like in general. Like it's just a soft place for me to go. So I've been editing the podcast in bed. ⁓ that sounds really lovely. It's really lovely. 'Cause I just gotta hit that space bar and just go bloop bloop bloop cut cut cut bloop bloop bloop bloop You know?

I don't know what just happened, I feel like I blacked out. I don't know, I just what am I talking about? I don't know. It's the tsunami. Welcome to the Laughing House podcast. And that's it. I think that's it. We're done here. And that's all she wrote this time around. I've got a hot take. There's not a good bag out there for anyone. Just do a hot take temptance. Quick, quick, get your hot takes. There's no one bag to rule them all.

There's not one. Wait, actually we can do that. We can ask people. Yeah. Do a social media chat box. Give us your hot takes. We'll take it and then we can share other people's. ⁓ speaking of other people. Rio just woke up from his lap and he was looking at me like Hi Rio. We're being silly. Can I get a kiss? That's gone. That's the title. Can I get a kiss? Tomorrow night.

No, bro.

That's good. There's a recoupling in the villa. Guys, are you gonna watch live so you can vote? Yeah. I'm gonna vote. I'm gonna vote. I'm so down. There's also like a World Cup game I gotta watch. It's like the most beautiful like underdog story ever. And they're playing tonight. And if they don't lose tonight and they score or something, they like will go to the next round, which would be unbelievably unheard of. That is crazy. Look it up on TikTok.

It'll make you cry. It'll make you cry. I already did cry today, so the World Cup shit on the TikToks is just crazy. I like to watch that. I got I got like AI World Cup stuff and I'm like, What? No God, no. It was like about like really hot men. And it was like, I'll watch the World Cup and it was like all these different countries with like just like AI like hot men. I'm like w ever so I was like, hot dang, like these countries and I like, This is this is false.

No, have you seen the content like of like the Scots in Boston and like Algerians and Kansas. I wanna see the Scots in Boston. I haven't. Algerians in Kansas. Get me there. No, I've just seen like the Norway ⁓ yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I saw them do it on the subway. Like that is cool. I'm like, talk about a country that like unites you and it's not like annoying chance. That is a cool thing that you're doing.

That's very true. I'm just loving the European content in the US and just like everyone traveling to the US. And loving it and it's just honestly, they're calling it the great American sleepover, Liz. That's so cute. See, this is why TikTok is great. I need I need some. Well, it's my entire TikTok is this. World Cup. Tartan Army. Tartan Army. Norway Row. Norway Row. ⁓ Kansas. The Scots like drank Boston Dry and they like extended the hours.

They let them drink in the streets. And then like everyone fell in love with them and then they left or went to Miami for the next Scotland game. And then the Brits came to Boston to play someone and they like won't even do shit for them. They're like, We like the Scots. We like the Scots. I was curious because Boston is so Irish and Celtic every everywhere. So I was wondering how that I'm So they stand with Scotland and Ireland, but not Britain.

But not Britain. Because Britain is we had a tea party here. Come on. Fuck you guys. Fuck you. Wait, Liz, wait. Not that like we can talk about this somewhere else, but like who do you want to be at the end of this recoupling tonight? Like I genuinely want to know. ⁓ The only original couple I'm rooting for is Bryson Trinity. And I didn't even like them that much before Casa Amour. And then Casa Amore came around and I'm like, I yeah, you guys belong together.

Yeah. I obviously they want to gel it big. And that's really like That's the bar that we're looking for. Bryce's whole like speech about love. He's like, I just have to shoot my shot. And if that's what love like that's what love is. On it, I like if that's not emotional. It was so nice. It was so n if he meant it, which I really hope he did, it was beautiful. And also what a juxtaposition to fucking KC, who's like, ⁓ uh's gonna have to like, she's toe on that line.

She's she I spoke life into her. I was like Put that man in jail. When that ⁓ when he said what he was doing is okay bec and what if Anaya was doing anything like he was doing, it's not okay because he spoke life into her. Get the fuck out. I was like, holy misogyny. Holy misogyny. And yeah, that's my I hope the only only people that go back to each other are Trinity Embrace. Please, Lord.

And like if Kada wants to go back with Zach, pff That's you shouldn't. But you shouldn't. I feel like she might, but like you shouldn't. Well, especially because Zach is now gonna walk in single. He's not gonna bring Alana with him. So it's gonna look better for him, but it's because she went got kicked off because she's racist. So Yep. There it is. Whoop, there it is. Yeah. It was very sad when the girls started crying after they saw the pictures.

It was really sad. Like, ⁓ that does hurt to see. You don't want to see the her sad girls. ⁓ and the Casa Girls being mean to the Villa Girls. They're bitches. Amora seems like a sweetheart, but like she's with Sincere, so flag. Flag on the play. Flag on the play. Also, here's the people I'm rooting for. Other than that, I hope they all go into the sea. one, Trinity, two, Keda, three, Anaya, four, Melanie. Those I don't even care about them.

I only care about Trinity. But I care about those four people's fates. The others, I want them all to go away. Same. And that's I don't want justice to be served for them. Yes. I want to see how this plays out. I want to see if the court ⁓ plays this out. Amen. Agree. Amen. Anyway, thanks for listening. Hopefully there's some cohesive thoughts in there. And if not, too bad, you suckas. Your loss is our game.
